Configure IR Ports

The IR Configuration tab is present only if you select an IR port in the IP Link® Tree window.  This tab is used to assign a driver to an IR port, and choose the device functions for the selected port.  Buttons for the selected functions will be displayed and usable in the GlobalViewer® interface.

To select a device driver for an IR port:

  1. In the IP Link Tree window, select an IR port.  The IR Configuration tab opens.

As an option in the IP Link Tree window, you can right-click the IR port and give it a unique name. For example, in the figure on the right, IR Port 1 has been changed to Sharp DVD.

  1. In the IR Driver Selection section, select a device type, manufacturer, and version (see below).

  2. In the Available Drivers section, select an available device driver.

  3. Click the Add Driver button.  The selected driver is displayed in the Added Driver(s) section (5).

To configure the selected IR port:

  1. In the Added Driver(s) section, select the desired device driver.  The functions of the selected IR driver are displayed in the IR Port Group (6) section.

  2. In the IR Port Group section, select the desired device functions.

  3. Click the Right Arrow button to move the selected functions to the GlobalViewer Web Group(s)
section (8).  These are the functions that are displayed and usable in the GlobalViewer host interface.

  4. Right-click the folder, select Rename from the drop-down list, and give the folder a unique name.  This is optional.

Note:  Before changes are viewable in GlobalViewer, you must perform the build and upload process in Global Configurator.

To view the configured IR port in the GlobalViewer interface:

  1. In the IP Link Tree window, select the GlobalViewer host device.

  2. Right-click the host device and select Open GlobalViewer Webpage from the drop-down list.  The GlobalViewer web page opens.
