Extron Introduces All-New System INTEGRATOR® Speaker Series

Anaheim, CA (June 8, 2005) - Extron Electronics is pleased to announce the System INTEGRATOR® speaker series, a family of seven speakers designed specifically for AV system integrators and professional applications. System Integrator "SI" speakers are optimized for smooth, accurate reproduction of music and voice for both low and high power delivery applications. Extron SI Series speakers were designed to address the most popular speaker applications, and include ceiling speakers with or without plenum-rated back cans, in-wall speakers with open-back, infinite baffle designs, and surface mount speakers with durable, all-weather enclosures. Design and development of the System INTEGRATOR speakers began over two years ago with the intention to provide consistent performance and outstanding value. The SI speaker design placed special emphasis on the crossover, from bass through midrange to the high frequencies. Particular attention was given to the midrange and tweeter for a smooth, flat response with minimized phase shift. "Two years of research, testing, and listening have resulted in a line of speakers that meet the high product quality standards we are known for," says Lee Dodson, vice president of marketing for Extron. The System INTEGRATOR SI 26 and SI 28 all weather, two-way surface mount speakers feature ferrofluid-cooled, aluminum-coated dome tweeter coupled to an Extron exclusive, new conical horn design for minimum phase shift and a flat response over the mid and high frequency ranges. The SI 26 features a 6.5" long-throw woofer and a 1" tweeter, and the SI 28 features an 8" long-throw woofer and a 1" tweeter. Both models have a nominal impedance of 8 ohms with durable, high-impact housings in a black or white finish, and include Extron's exclusive Patent Pending V-Lock® mounting hardware that facilitates easy, secure installations. The System INTEGRATOR SI 26X and SI 26CT are two-way ceiling speakers featuring a coaxial design. Long-throw woofers coupled to pivoting ferrofluid-cooled, aluminum-coated dome tweeters deliver accurate voice and music reproduction, as well as wide angle sound distribution. The pivoting tweeters allow aiming of the midrange and high frequencies for best area coverage. The SI 26X is an open back, two-way speaker for use in non-plenum airspace environments, and includes a 6.5" long-throw woofer and a 3/4" tweeter. The SI 26X has a nominal impedance of 8 ohms. The SI 26CT is housed in an 8" metal back can for use in plenum environments. The SI 26CT features a high power design and employs a 6.5" long-throw woofer and a 1" tweeter. This model is designed for direct connection at 16 ohms for the SI 26CT, and 70/100 volt operation with a front-mounted five position selector switch. The System INTEGRATOR SI 26W and SI 28W two-way in-wall speakers feature ferrofluid-cooled, aluminum-coated dome tweeters and long-throw woofers in a vertically stacked arrangement to deliver balanced voice and music reproduction. The pivoting dome tweeters allow aiming of the midrange and high frequencies for best area coverage. The SI 26W features a 6.5" long-throw woofer and a 3/4" tweeter, and the SI 28W features an 8" long-throw woofer and a 1" tweeter. Both models have a nominal impedance of 8 ohms and offer a theft-deterrent, permanently installed, in-wall design.
